Join us for this week’s Friday FUNdamentals at 6:00PM at the Caribou Ski Center at Caribou High School. This week’s technique focus will be Skate – Introductory Skate Technique: V1.

All trails groomed for classic and skate and in excellent condition.

Come join Northern Skiers Club THIS Friday night (January 6th)! Sleeper’s will be providing a hot dog dinner free for all from 5-6pm. Our first Friday Fundamentals (ski lessons/adult ski night – free) will begin at 6pm. Join us for an intro to skiing or head out on snowshoes or skis to a bonfire at the ski hut! AND YES WE HAVE SNOW… Extra snow has been spread and groomed on one loop, so let’s get outside!

Thank you to all Northern Skiers Club members/friends who helped make last night’s ski rental time a success! To those who volunteered their time, thank you. It really cannot be done without you. To those who signed up for this season’s NSC Membership, you should know that your membership dues come at a critical time. At the beginning of each winter season, the two grooming sleds need to be serviced, and with your help, we are able to cover that cost effectively. So, THANK YOU!
If you haven’t done so already, you may still sign up to join the Northern Skiers Club. Membership forms (with a listing of benefits) can be found on this site and mailed to the indicated address on the form.

REMINDER:

Ski Rental Return TONIGHT from  6:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. at the Caribou Wellness andRecreationCenter.  Please use the following drop-off instructions when returning the equipment:

Drive to the back of the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center building(the side facing the National Guard Engineering division, this can be achieved by taking North Street (the street on the side of the Wellness Center)take your first left after the Wellness Center and look for an orange cone adjacent to the set of doors, at that point you will see volunteers to assist you with your equipment.

We would like to remind you of the following points:

• First and foremost, all kick wax needs to be removed from the skis
• The equipment that was assigned to you must be returned by the rightful renting party (if unsure of specific numbers associated with your rentals, please call 493-4224 between8:00a.m.– 5:00p.m..)
• All equipment that was rented (bags, ties, poles, boots and skis ) needs to be returned together at drop-off
• If boots are muddy, please make best effort to remove soiled soles and uppers
• If there are any glaring defects with the equipment, please make us aware so that we can make necessary repairs in the off season

A BIG thank you to all who helped to make this year’s Aroostook Youth Ski Festival a success.  The weather was great.  The kids had a blast! (…and I quote, “Skiing is fun!” From a first time skier to his mom after the event).  More than enough volunteers!  Awesome sponsorship!  A great day on skis!  We hope to see you all next year!
